About the role: Design Coordinator
  • Act as the link between architects, engineers, consultants, and construction teams.
  • Ensure design intent aligns with project scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Facilitate design reviews, approvals, and value engineering.
  • Manage regulatory compliance, including Australian Standards, and local council requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support tendering and procurement by reviewing design elements.
  • Work with the construction team to resolve design issues on-site.
Responsibilities include:
Design Management & Coordination:
  • Review architectural, structural, and services drawings for consistency.
  • Ensure constructability and efficiency in design.
  • Manage RFIs (Requests for Information) and design change requests
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Facilitate design workshops and coordination meetings.
Compliance & Documentation:
  • Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards, and planning regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and ensure revisions are tracked.
Value Engineering & Cost Control:
  • Identify design efficiencies to reduce costs without compromising quality.
  • Work closely with estimators and project managers.
Construction Support:
  • Provide technical advice during the build phase.
  • Address design conflicts or modifications on-site.
Your background:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, such as construction management, architecturedesign.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a design coordination/ Project Coordinator role in the Commercial or Fit out space working for a main contractor 
  • Will look at candidates straight out of an Architect
  • Experience working on complex and challenging projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
